I think this point has been brought up enough to annoy everyone, but I think the user gallery should have sub-galleries to direct a search to a certain interest.

Perhaps a new feature could be added in the subscription area.... for example... you can subscribe to the user gallery... so that when a new picture is added it pops up as a subscription notice.

This might be too advanced and time consuming for you... but just as a concept it might be cool to be able to personalize the site just a little bit so that you could have your own "Favorites Gallery" where you can build a page for yourself to put all of you favorite wallpapers in. This could be private or public (i.e. only you can see your favorites page or other people can veiw your favorites page as well).

Just a couple of random thoughts... =)

This could be as simple as an extra image or as extravagant as a flash-type zoom, but it would be nice to have a larger target on the world gallery, in areas such as the Northeast US and Europe where the dots are starting to touch.

For some reason, on the order of something like the world gallery, I had thought it would be neat to have some sort of world map with a dot for each user's location. I'm sure some users wouldn't want to give out this information with their names attached, but some sort of overview map that shows where all the users come from, anonymously, might be interesting.

I just remembered something I'd like to see that's really easy: A link to the author's gallery from their profile.

Yeah that's a good idea. Especially because I had it too. ;-)

I agree with Xentrix. There are possibilities to improve the ' World Gallery'. For example, it would be necessary to draw countries, because good notions of geography are necessary to really point its photo

Didn't there used to be an automatic email thingy to notify when someone replied in a msg..or something?

I added the gallery link in the user's profile page. It was a quick little hack.

Maybe having a picture of the member on their profile page?

I was just thinking... maybe in the galleries you could have a browsing feature. Right now anytime I want to view the next picture I have to hit the 'back' button and then click on the next picture... Maybe on each page you could have a 'previous' and 'next' button so I don't have to keep going back and forth?

How about like when you search for a picture, it says its location. Like lets say I searched for my "Autumn" picture with the search feature, when the results came back it show what it shows now, with its location: photography/nature.

I was Just thinking... Mabe you can make a logo gallery. The little pictures of 64 x 64 res. have tons of potential. Anyways, it's time to put some color in those people that are registered, but don't give any pictures to say how good you made this site caedes. Plus, you should make the registration sheet anti-theft so people don't just come to your site to get all the images just because you registered. For example: If I were looking for a desktop background, in the galleries, it removes my privilege to look at other pages of the sub-galleries without passing the first page and being registered as an official caedes user. I disagree of the idea that signing-up as a caedes user should get you privilege to see the pictures. You have to try to tell them to give 1 picture, or, be removed from the user list. I can help you: to see the pictures of this site, ask for the price of 1 picture on the registration site to have acces to the others. Amazingly amazing site you made anyways. You just have to make a couple of changes. Best site I have ever seen, no ads (thank GOD!) and nearly flawless! :D P.S. If you can make an introduction movie to this site, (and get payed) you can double the amount of people that come to you site. This is the longest message I've sent EVER. (sorry for being so repetitive)

WinterNight, I agree with what you just said... it would be nice for all pictures to show what category they are in. Because when you find an image by, say, going through the rankings listing, you can't tell what category it's in. Sometimes it's obvious and sometimes its not.

In light of what Twisted Warrior has said . . . I kinda like the membership the way it is . . . Some people like the beauty of the images here at Caedes.net but lack the artistic ability or equipment to make contributions. The only change I would see as helpful is to limit the voice of non-contributing users . . . but that's just my opinion.

Yeah, the requirements for the permanent galleries are so high that I think requiring people to upload something would seriously discourage them. It would me!

Sorry... I guess I was mad at that time. But now I'm happy :D Caedes... do me a favor and let the registration page like it is. Just try to make it a little more than the obvious.
Thanks in advance. Oh... ond sorry for puting you guys down reddawg and CrazyIvan. I'll delete what I said about the registration stuff and... stuff.

uh i didn't feel put down, so don't worry about it haha.

Caedes I had a thought... what about if in the galleries you see not just the title of the piece under the thumbnail, but the author as well? i know that for me at least i would look at more works if i knew it was by an artist i liked.

At the same time, not knowing prompts the viewer to look at images because of their beauty and not as a result of a generalization towards a certain artist's ability to produce such work.

In most browsers, when you run your mouse over a link, the address the link points to appears at the bottom of the screen. In this case, if you hover the mouse over the thumbnail, the link is shown, in which the author's name is part of the file name.
Just a quick fix for your request. :-D

Although several artists already share the information in the image description area, I think it would be cool to add an extra line on the image info pages to tell what type of equipment was used to create the images.

Yeah. I agree with crazyivan. and also, i think when you subscribe, you should be given the requrements for getting your picture put into the index. (maybe you already do, and i just missed it). Because I didnt know you have to have the resolution 1280 x 1024 up untill recently.

Although I'm probably too late with ideas (the new site has already been scripted), I think there should be a way to subscribe to all the work of a particular artist without going though and subscribing to each of their pieces individually - - I know, I know - I'm lazy. . . =)
