Anyone else think it might be a good idea to have the ablity to subscribe to an author... so that when ever an author posts a new image you would get an alert detailing whos image.. image title..and which gallery.. it could turn up like current subscriptions and pm alerts.. there could be a 'New image subscription' link which would be found on any page of a users gallery...

it's a good and a bad idea I think...

good because, this way it would be more easy to keep up with the work of an artist.(god knows I did have difficulties recently V_V')

on the other hand maybe it would make us less inclined to check the others stuff... and left out the work on the new members and some less regular members...

I honestly don't know... I'm for it, but I'm afraid it would maybe make us create an inner circle in Caedes and isolate us from the others and vice versa....

but maybe I'm too paranoic! lol

hmmm you've got a good point there Lucy...i'd like to think that it would be a good thing..... but it is a risk as you pointed out... well if ever such an idea was implemented it would have to be on a trial basis... possibly it could create such an inner circle.. but im sure all the people who currently browse the new gallery.. will continue to do so regardless of having a specialy subscription service... but maybe it youd be limited so you can only subscribe to say 3 authors only.... which would mean that if it did develope an inner circle.. it would on consist of people who already only look at the works of certain authors... and a little paranoia is good for you....:D lol

I had recently thought of that to, but quickly threw it in the waste basket as a bad idea. Haha, there is an inner circle isn't there? This way at least, people are forced to put feelers out to accept new artists. The only fair way of executing this would be to show a favourite authors list much the same as the favourites gallery that each user has...only automatic hehe:-)

Personally I don't think I would use such a feature. I always go through all the new uploads every time I log on anyway, and if I don't feel like clicking on every preveiw I can always hold the pointer over the image and it tells me who made it, then I can check it out if I want to. I don't have any objection to it though, and if some people only want to look at work by a particular group of people and not look at anything els that's fine by me. Would be a bit boring though...

PS if there is an Inner Circle shouldn't we have an initiation ceremony of some kind?

haha yeah bit difficult. I think if you want to see if an author has a new image just know where they are on the author list or search wallpaper... Not a bad idea but i dont think we really need that luxury ha and its alright just looking at the new image gallary for me at least

well i dont know about the rest of caedes... but i know i, and i think Klas might also.. have peoples gallery pages saved on our internet explorer favourites ;).

yeah...but that is subject to change & the inner circles would be a tad too cliquie(if thats how u spell it) i think, but i do have a few saved in favourites. might as well be a favourites gallery tho : ) good idea tho....also to quote someones signature the job of the artist is to deepen the mystery- F. Bacon ...i think.....if u r going along with that, best not to reveal all ur secrets. share waht u will whith whomeever u will.I for one like passing on any knowledge for that matter for in my own time to a worthy recipients. : p

i wouldn't use a favorite artist alert myself. if i want to see all of someone's new works i just go to their gallery and sort by date, it doesn't take much longer than an alert would.

there are definitely "inner circles" here (cliques really), which is natural, but beyond a certain point it's almost criminal.
