Everytime I try to log onto the site, it says my password incorrect. I have tried four times, and changed the password four times. I can log on with the new password, but then it fails next time. My avatar has been changed and there are comments from me on pictures I have never seen. Could someone be hacking my account, and if so, how? Noone knows my password, or has access to my email.
That certainly sounds very odd. I wonder if someone has chosen the same user name as you. Having said that, I would imagine that Caedes would have envisaged such a scenario when he coded the site.
I suppose it is possible that someone has hacked it, but it seems unlikely.
Unfortunately I have no idea what would cause this. Think I'll try PMing a mod, but Caedes may be the only one to have an answer
"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts." Bertrand Russell
Did you see the movie "Identity" (where a serial killer as a lot of different identities...) ?
Maybe it's the same problem... ;-)
Seriously, I think you've to PM caedes.
maybe you left caedes logged in and running somewhere in a public place.. and someone else sneaked on while you were distracted or not there...lol... hey the subject box above the write post section is yellow.... is that just me??
jono: It is possible that someone has access to your email account or your caedes.net account. If they have hacked your email account then there is little I can do because they can just have your caedes.net password reset. It is also possible that they are getting your caedes.net login information my listening in on the traffic that you're sending to the site. In either of these two situations I suggest that you do the following three things:
1. Change your caedes.net email address to something else (in case that has been hacked).
2. Set your caedes.net account to use "super-secure" password encoding. This will tie your login information to your machine's IP address and your specific browser identification.
3. Change your caedes.net password.
Also remember to alway log out of the site if you're using a shared computer.
Feel free to PM me in the future if you have any other issues.
Phew, glad it's not just me... I thought it was somehow the http referrer thing but that checked out clean and I see others are having this problem. Are the images on a separate server, that could be down? Because all the avatars and site graphics are still coming up fine. I guess I will take the opportunity to go for a walk with my camera. Hope it's up and running soon
