National Seashore, Truro, MA USA. Sand, wind, clouds, all are in constant motion. Here the sand seems to mirror the waves in its patterning, or is it the clouds? I walk these shores several times a year where Henry David Thoreau walked to write a book on Cape Cod in 1864. Only now, where he walked is a mile out to sea. We share some of the same sand I imagine. Change is the only constant.
You ask why I make my home in the mountain forest, and I smile, and am silent, and even my soul remains quiet: it lives in the other world which no one owns. The peach trees blossom, The water flows. Li Po
When the mind is at peace, the world too is at peace. Nothing real, nothing absent. Not holding on to reality, not getting stuck in the void, you are neither holy nor wise, just an ordinary fellow who has completed his work. Layman P'ang
They say the sea is restless, but it is men, as told from Melville's "Moby Dick" to lore and song, who get the itch and cast their lot to the seas. Here, our poor Ishmael, might be thinking, "Out to sea again, or to the nearest Golden Arches?
Who brought the hot dogs? Why don't these people clean up after themselves!

Lake Champlain Islands, Alburg, VT, USA On the day the world ends A bee circles a clover, A fisherman mends a glimmering net. Happy porpoises jump in the sea, By the rainspout young sparrows are playing And the snake is gold-skinned as it should always be.
What is beauty? What is ugliness? However your or my opinion, the fact is on this turning earth, it will be transformed. Sometimes as the saying goes in "a twinkling of an eye." Here an old farm stand leans back toward the fields, its passage eased by the greenery and uplifted arms.
Looking up into a startling photosynthesis reflected through afternoon light and vivid leaves, I have no doubt that while a dog may be man's best friend, it is the trees that help us to breathe, and remind me of grace.
What is depicted here? A squall at sea? The brushstrokes of an impressionist? or a draft for a Crop Circle? When one looks, the movements and energies of the world are endlessly fascinating and beautiful. Our own lives are subject to this weather. As a poet described: " I live my life in growing orbits which move out over the things of the world. Perhaps I can never achieve the last, but that will be my attempt. I am circling around God, around the ancient tower, and I have been circling for a thousand years, and I still dont know if I am a falcon, or a storm, or a great song." by Rainer Maria Rilke Translated by Robert Bly
Symphony of the Great Shearwater... The Great Shearwater is a species engaged in immense life journeys, breeding in the South Atlantic. Per Audobon it stays mostly at sea, so my picture shows an unusual circumstance. Birds are part of the many commonplace mysteries of our world, theorists now propose some may migrate by Quantum Entanglement . Winged Migration is one of the wonders of our world.
Reminiscent perhaps of those first colonizers of life from the sea....flowers though came later...they had to await for the bee to awake or join the mutually arising dance.....
Sand and Water and Light become one.
Artist? Artisan? or Engineer? He could care less what he's called. He's very skillful, engaged, and occupied. He keeps on task consistently without coffee or a paycheck to goad him. Some Beaver are distracted by an audience and don't like being observed. With a great whack, thump, and thunder sounding on the water, they smash their tail before diving below. This guy has a look in his eye that he's intent. I'm sure he knew I was there but just didn't care and he actually circled around a few times and came back in front of me but I don't think it was so I could get a good shot. "Now I think there is only one subject worth my attention and that is the recognition of the spiritual side of the world and, within this recognition, the condition of my own spiritual state.... I would say that there exist a thousand unbreakable links between each of us and everything else, and that our dignity and our changes are one. The farthest star and the mud at our feet are a family..." Poet Mary Oliver
