Negative space is the area between and around objects in an image. Use it to see shapes and sizes more effectively, and produce a strongly composed image for us.

Here's an article about the use of negative space:
A bowl of apples (or any fruit for that matter) is something we can all work on to create something that is eye catching, colourful, uses depth of field, perspective, etc etc etc.
And if it was a good enough subject for Claude Monet or Vincent van Gogh with canvas and oils, I don't see why we can't figure it out with a camera.

good infor above. I wasnt too clear on the topic, or so it seem. on the contrary, it seems from some of the comments floating a long...it isnt I that is unclear to what negative space is. what worries me is that the ones that are not very clear to the topic, might be the ones voting.
which reminds me of something i was told years ago. a person with little infor is far more dangerous then one with none! lets not be pretentious here and do our home work before posting, voting, or even commenting for that matter.
i) Open to all genres of art. Not just photography.
ii) Add a short description (one or two lines is sufficient, methinks) , so 'we' know what the artistic aim/intention of the subject matter is.
iii) Try not to repeat previous topics.
