Wow - That's Big! It's not always easy to convey in a 2d image quite how big a building or a truck or a tree or anything really is. Or, it could be something that's usually small but on this occasion it's big.

The eclipse was visible only in the USA so it would not be an all inclusive subject. It is Spring in my part of the world but I would not suggest Spring as a subject because many members are heading for winter.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
Indecision is any type of image your not quite sure about. Essentially it means have I got it right or is there something wrong with it. The winner is the artist who made the biggest mistake! I hope folks understand this and I hope the gremlins DON'T delete this option!
Progress equals a trashed planet since mankind is too busy altering it. BTW find the classic definition of Caedes here. Enjoy yourself today (o: because you don't know what tomorrow may bring.
I'm practically sure we done BREAKING THE RULES before +purmusic! You should check it out! Funny really I've never really bothered with rules myself. (o:
To me it should not matter that its not all inclusive, it should be what people vote for! If you suggested "springtime" that would be just fine with me...Let the votes decide! Always seems to be nothing but negativity and complaining on the subject Why dont the mods just pick a subject! All this may be why there are only 8-15 entries per contest! Wont have to worry about my input or participation any further!
Oh for goodness sake Mvillian, I wasn't complaining - simply stating a fact ! Giving a reason why Eclipse may not gather many votes. So far it has one. We are reminded time and time again that the subjects should allow everyone to enter in an effort to increase the numbers. As there are only a very small number of members living where it is now springtime it would be ridiculous to have a Spring contest just now. You are correct - it should be what people vote for and at the moment they are speaking for themselves. Sorry I spoke !

Sorry did not really mean just your comment and I should have said it differently! But with same meaning, The subject should not always have to be all inclusive, the eclipse and springtime are great examples no not everyone was in the path but lots were and I have seen a few illustrations, If you cannot suggest Springtime when it is Springtime where you are then WHEN CAN YOU? The bottom line to me is there is always next month!
True, the subject need not always have to be inclusive.
But.. given that we just finished a contest that was centered around photography.. I would really like if 'we' (speaking generally here) try to keep in mind the following:
i) Open to all genres of art. Not just photography.
ii) Add a short description (one or two lines is sufficient, methinks) , so 'we' know what the artistic aim/intention of the subject matter is.
(iii) Try not to repeat previous topics. After 8 years of contests this is becoming increasingly difficult. How far back are we supposed to look ? What is the problem with repeating a subject? It is unlikely that any current member has participated in each and every subject since the start. Some of the earlier subjects are very good and perhaps could be repeated to everyone's advantage. I honestly think "What Is It?" was all inclusive. Its just that the main majority of entries were photos.
**Correction: contests have been going for 14 years, not 8...... an interesting exercise would be to go back and repeat them all
If you cannot suggest Springtime when it is Springtime where you are then WHEN CAN YOU? Thank you Mvillian - that is common sense and made me think (not having much sense usually) so I have added Spring as a subject :)

Spring - added after previous posts. It is well in force in the Southern hemisphere. Could be spring scenes, spring colours, or anything connected with Spring. (maybe even a watch spring :) )

Just to repeat a previous comment for Les +purmusic attention.
We've done Breaking the Rules before. I was under the impression we weren't supposed to repeat contests. Whether that's correct or not can you please respond to this comment as I've got a possible entry. Thank you.
BTW: This is the winning entry that took place almost 12 years ago.
@LynEve: You've brought up the question whether or not it is a problem repeating previous contest topics before, Lyn. And to remind you.. this is what I had said at that time, more or less..
The operative words being.. "Try not to repeat..".
And if you've not noticed, the current contest topic is a resurrection of an old contest topic.
And it was suggested by.. me.
That aside..
The main thrust of my post that you were responding to was that of a plea on the note of suggesting more inclusive topics.
@ +purmusic l had noticed and I was aware who had suggested it. Surely proof that repeats are not bad per se. Quite honestly I and I suspect others do not have the time or inclination to troll back 14 years worth of contests to check what subjects have been used. I find it particularly trying Trying being the operative word. More or less
You may have noticed that I did respond to the all inclusive topic plea further back. Maybe you missed it.
