I Can't See Clearly Now could be photos taken of fog, through glass? with steam or water on it... or material that is not clear. For the graphics artists it could be an abstract or something that leans on the photo side of things... I am sure you guys would have better ideas... I have but pushed on the 'start' button to activate your imaginations. :o)
I voted abstract because I wanted to give you photographers a chance to enter this time. I think it's just terrible the way you guys always seem to be excluded from these contests & after all....fair is fair !
Yeah, echoing lg here, it's just awful how us photographers cannot participate in these contest, so this time I vote for abstract so we get a chance. Fair play, right? =)

I suggest Still Life images. They can be Abstract or Classic Still Life images and either photographs or other art forms suitable for electronic display.

I voted abstract, because I think it's something everyone can particiapte in, regardless of their medium of choice. But I have to say, I Can't See Clearly was a very close second. I'm hoping that choice is available for the next contest if it's not chosen this time. Either would be challenging, which means FUN FUN FUN, lol.
But I'd sure hate to be the person(s) who have to judge, lol.
There are few situations in life that cannot be honourably settled, and without any loss of time, either by suicide, a bag of gold, or by thrusting a despised antagonist over the edge of a precipice on a dark night.

A good contest topic would require imagination and creativity from everyone. "Abstract" for fractalists is like "Photo" for photographers. As a "concession" to the non-photographers it's pretty much meaningless.

I agree with Hanna's point about Abstract. As I am not a fractalist I find it quite difficult to think of suitable topics that would not favour one side or the other. It is probably a bit late in the voting now to try, but anyone can put up a new topic, and it might make people think for next time..
Can I suggest, for future consideration, that people think in terms of adjectives for contest topics? Or at least subjects that can't be taken too literally. Any photographer can go out and shoot a door, but not something like, say, "concord" or "formal". It would be nice to see a bit more originality in the entries.

Late to the party but what the hell: For a photographer abstract is dead easy. Pretty much any normal object or scene, when photographed so as to remove or warp it's context, will become abstracted. Then it's down to textures, light, angles, composition to give the impact. It is a good photographic challenge because it makes it harder for a photographer to rely on the beauty of the subject for impact, more thought and understanding is required.
