3rd place
Honeybee #31 by ryzst

LakeMichigan: Great shot, Russ .
Wonderful color and dof.

Lightpainter: Terrific macro shot. I agree with Nikoneer. There are great scenes everywhere. If a viewer cannot see them, the problem is with the viewer.

ryzst: Thank you Marsha and Lyn.

I'm very pleased that you and others liked the picture. As I recall, it was a quick, impulsive shot and I only got one. Then the bee took off like a rocket.

4th place
Ladybug by Eubeen

gizmo1: How do you possible know that this is a lady bug lol.Nice capture and very fitting background using your lamp to help him warm up.Love the colours and light coming of the ladybirds back too.

Nikoneer: Not only is this a capture of one of Spring's harbingers, the lowly and familiar ladybug, but the placement of the bug on the curved edge of this object emphasizes the change from one season to the next. The curved halves, one dark and one light, of the Korean symbol of Yin & Yang symbolize man and woman. This object, with its curved black and white, symbolizes for me the abrupt transition from Winter to Spring. It's simplicity is it's perfection.
