This eagle was injured and treated at the Alaska Raptor Rehabilitation Center in Sitka. Thanks to Dick Resh for suggesting editing out the wire as a window.
I'm afraid that Randy's right. I like the fact that you cloned out the wire for a "window", but the fact remains that the camera's best focus is still on the wire and not the bird. I like the composition however, and I'm glad you sent it along :)
"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web." Pablo Picasso
The fire in the bird's eye seems to strike me first. What a magnicient creature. Big thanks to to fine people at the Alaska Raptor Rehab Center. I wonder if this bird is healed now and a free agent?
Oh, it was an edit? I am even more impressed now. Editing something from the front is not that easy if one wants a realistic finish.
Well done, and the end result is this great, humorous and ery sharp image. Perfect composition, and great clarity. The eagles have such a majestic look about them, don't they?

For our dreams we will fight, and we'll write
the future history less bloody than the past,
with our dreams we'll build a peace to last!"
