Your photo has an other-worldly look to it with the sun beams blasting through the dense canopy. You've done a beautiful job with the light and dark contrast in what looks like very difficult photographic terrain. Amazing how you captured this moment with no overexposure. I checked out your gallery and amazed at your versatility. Before I noticed the link in your narrative, I was drawn to "Fertility". A C-Index of 37???!!!!! That's just bull. I'm trying to control my language.
The sunbeams penetrating the dense woods is great, Hannah. It could be better, though. I think the overexposed area is very distracting. It could be burnt in quite easily to blend with the overall image, using the Lasso tool. Just draw a line down the large tree trunk to the bottom branch, then over to the third tree, up to the top and back to the start point. Use a negative Gamma tool to reduce the exposure inside the dotted Lasso area and eliminate the overexposure. This also increases the effectiveness of the sun rays. There are other means of burning in, but with black tree trunks and branches, it only takes a few seconds with the Lasso tool.
The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
A beautiful, mystical, woodland scene, Hannah. The lovely shades of green, the sun's rays streaking through the trees, and the vines climbing up the tree trunks are wonderful. Nice contrast and shadow detail, as well. Nicely done!
