Keep in mind I always make the wrong choice. Well the choice would depend on whether this is viewed as a positive or negative image. The silhouetted bits tend to suggest negative. So frustration would seem to fit the bill. This poor, hungry, tired soul has traveled this far to pick some fruit off the tree only to find the only bridge for miles around across this chasm was washed out just yesterday. So near, yet so far... On the positive side we have hope. Hope that the same person can muster the strength necessary to jump across the divide to achieve their goal. Overcoming all obstacles as it were... Nice work on your design/illustration.
Thought provoking as you probably intended it to be. When we come across obstacles in life, it seems that a bevy of emotions run through us. The first would be shock or surprise, followed by resignation and then, if possible, determination to find a way around the obstacle or search for a different path. I like the thought that went into this and I like the simple elements that create an entire idea and it is all set against a pleasing color gradient. Good luck.
I have viewed this several times and each time I see a different emotion.
It is a very emotive image, and a creative and worthy contest entry.
What I see and feel right now is standing on the edge of the night with a very wide and empty gap until the welcome rosy glow of the dawn. I am sure if I return later the gap will have closed making it small enough to step across. Or maybe it will have widened and the dawn will never come.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . .
