Another version of a previous post. As some of you suggested, I eliminated the female bird. But to make it a little different, I turned this one into a painting, hope you like it.

Although the painting effect doesn't spoil this image, it does take away alot of the magick that can be enjoyed in the photograph. I love this image. Removing the female that can be seen in the original was good advice well taken. But my humble and honest opinion is that I would much prefer to see the photo. I feel that the photo has much more potential to be 'iconic' portrayal of winter.

I think I like your first somewhat better too. Although they both are beautiful I think the grain of the canvas look takes a little bit away from it. Nicely captured!!

Hey Larry, I checked out both versions of this. I like them both, and agree that it was a good idea to lose the female cardinal. I really love the simplicity of this image, and with the addition of the one red cardinal, really makes it special. As for the painted look, I think it's very nice and I have taken it for my DT, but would love to know if you ever choose to post this without the painting effect, as I think I would like it even more. Thanks for sharing....and great work!
Lori

p.s...Going to check out the rest of your gallery :)
