Brett, a fantastic shot of this rare sea urchin. I believe it is a West Indian Sea Egg ~ a short spined sea urchin that is also edible. You are lucky ~ I always keep my fish & creature ID books next to my PC. The colors are perfect on this close-up view of the urchin. Faves!

I can barely imagine the additional challenges that photography underwater provides but I suspect this shot was not so simple as it's content suggests. :)
