This is two photographs mixed together, cut up, and manipped. The foremost pic is a pewter cross statue, with a black and white filter. The background was a kind of cracked glass globe candleholder that was autumn orange. I changed the hue of it, and used a colored pencil filter on it. Both items were in a kind of a home decor store. Just a "For Fun" pic I messed with when I was feeling creative and random. Let me know what you think!

Great job, but in my opinion the cross seems a little bit out of focus. But that could be the way you want it to look.

It almost looks like a cross which is forbidding you to enter what it doesn't want crossed into, if that makes any sense?
Tis beautiful however...great job :)

Very stylish post you have here. Interesting choice of crop and focal distance.. it works though, especially with the blue background.

One detractor, as alreaady mentioned, is the focus. A slightly smaller aperture, giving you a deeper depth of field might've worked a bit better for this shot.

As I'm guessing you've read before, ignore the score this has received. Images that stray from "the norm" don't tend to do well in the VB.

Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.

Very individual project! I like it! I wonder how it could look if the background was sth like fire, not blue...

Have you seen the film, Nosferatu? It's pretty creepy... Yet I have trouble taking it seriously while watching it.

Anyway,

The background contrasts nicely with the cross - good textures. I really like this idea, and I appreciate the originality of it.

"Do you see any Teletubbies in here? Do you see a slender plastic tag clipped to my shirt with my name printed on it? Do you see a little Asian child with a blank expression on his face sitting outside on a mechanical helicopter that shakes when you put quarters in it? No? Well, that's what you see at a toy store. And you must think you're in a toy store, because you're here shopping for an infant named Jeb."

I like how this image at first seemed like a macro shot of a seal of some sort on an ancient marbled glass vase. Your use of filters to modify textures worked very well in this piece. :)
