The Butchart Gardens in Brentwood Bay on Vancouver Island, Canada, is one of the worldÂ’s premier floral show gardens. Jennie Butchart began to shape this magnificent landscape in 1904. She established, in the style of the grand estates of the period, several distinct gardens to evoke a range of aesthetic experiences. An abandoned limestone quarry was transformed into the dramatic Sunken Garden.
This is further into the garden shown in the image "Eden".

It was rather overcast at the time this photograph was taken and while this gave nice rich colors, I found it lacked some tonal contrast. I probably should have used a slower shutter speed. To correct this, I did a levels adjustment in Photoshop. I also selected the area in the foreground containing just the white tulips and adjusted the whites using the Selective Color option to add a bit more black into the whites so that they had more depth. I then added an Orton effect at about 50% opacity to further enhance the "lushness" of the scene.
