I was taking a road home I don't normally take when I saw this tree. I just had to have it. The way the branches seemed to weave together caught my interest. It wasn't 'till later that I discovered the Red Tailed hawk on the windmill. lol

I like this, but I feel like I'd like to be closer to the tree because as you point out it's very interesting to see the tangles of branches woven together and it would have been a lot easier to see that bird..glad you pointed that out :)

I really like this too, I enjoy trees in all seasons this is a great winter scene. I agree that the black and white works very well for this image. Great job. I hope you enjoy Caedes! Diane

Love this B&W. Love trees. Love hawks. Love windmills... I love how trees start with one trunk (or in this case two) and keep branching out and dividing, maybe into infinity, or at least thousands. This image illustrates that for me beautifully.

I think the black & white emphasizes the limbs beautifully. Nice contrast between the tree & the geometry of the windmill.

I agree with all the above. The only thing I would have done is level out the horizon with software. Did you take a bunch of shots or just this one? The subject matter is very nice and this makes for a terrific composition, but I would, if you get the chance, take this again with the horizon level and more of the tree trunk in the shot. Of course, that hawk won't be there any longer, but all the other elements make for a very fine b/w photo.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Great shot. The multitude of tiny branches makes you think they could keep on dividing infinitely. Excellent work
