This tree is front of my dorm, it reminds me of a tree from Lion King or something, and I really want to climb this tree before I graduate... But I know that if I ever do dare that, I'll get kicked out... :) Oh yea, it's also the tree that has the Jumping Bannana Spiders. If they bite me, I'll win a free trip to the hospital. :)

They kick you out of school if you climb that monster? What if someone else throw's you up? It ain't your fault then. LOL. Just remember to take a can of Off Spider repellent with you. Nice shot.

Yea, That tree is strictly for decoration, and for Christmas Lights. And they also want to prevent many many spider bites that could occur from climbing it. Those things are as big as my hand!!!!!

So compromise and hang a tire swing from it.
A nice photo of the tree and effect. Now I want to climb it.

I think the Banana Spiders is a rumor. I never saw any spiders anywhere near that tree. Besides, banana spiders are a tropical animal. They don't live naturally in the U.S. And their bites cause a heart attack. So if they lived in the tree, the school would have had them exterminated a long time ago.

My Biology teacher there at school, Miss Watson (Awesome teacher, if you have to take biology, get her!!!!), anyway, Miss Watson said the reason they ask people not to climb the tree (besides for insurance reasons) is because Chiggers (teeny tiny microscopic biting insects) live in the spanish moss on the tree. Their bites itch like crazy.

What a gorgeous Oak tree! When living in Louisiana, there were many Oaks like this. I don't think those critters are there either. Well, due to you living in Florida there might be a bit of the tropical going on, but Ithink they just tell you those "things" are there to keep you from having fun climibing the tree . They probably figure you'd never wanna be in school.lol
Nice photo tho. Verena

Awww, the Beka tree! Good memories, no banana spiders though. Caiden is right about the chiggers, so climbing (even though we all wanted to do it ;) is not recommended.
