Two photos taken last June by my wife!... with no thought of them being spliced together... but it has been done! Almost total desolation for one family... I say almost because at least there was no funeral service. The teen in an afternoon nap was awakened (probably by the explosion!) and escaped out the back door. The house to the left was eventually removed from the site as well. The house to the right needed a new make-up job! (Refinishing of the exterior only!) This fire occurred a couple days before my son's house, just two doors further to the right, was supposed to go for sale. A tragedy like this normally hurts for a few minutes when you see it in the news, but it endures much longer when it happens so close to a loved one. By the way, it sure makes a mess for about a block around. Rumour was that car¿ exploded. I was there when the house was burning but made the decision not to 'shoot' it... it was a most horrific incident to witness. The whole story is too long to tell here so I will stop now. But still... :o)                                                                                                                                             I know that normally B&W emphasizes desolation... but in my eyes colour does a better job here... B&W appears to de-emphasize this tragedy! I will give you a look at that tomorrow!   Edit: Tomorrow has come and gone... BW Ruins 2½ in... B&W!

Oh my gosh, what a tragic thing to happen, and you watched it.
Very frightening to have seen I'm sure of that. The desolation sure speaks here. Congrats on this. Verena

Every time I close the door on reality it comes in through the windows.

That is really scary. It looks like a nice neighborhood from what I can tell. That's a shame. Very nice work with the stitching.

That is scary. A similar event happened in my hometown, the explosion was felt over a mile away.
