My intended entry into the current contest... Music! :o) Thanks to Proshow SlideShowMaker, I have found a way to deal with vertical images that I like but can't use to fill my screen. The norm is to expand the image to fill your screen, use some major portion of it(canvas size to screen size), make it B&W mode, make it RGB again, paste the vertical (sized vertically to something smaller than your max) where you wish to have it, do a Layer>LayerStyle>Bevel&Emboss>ok and voila... a vertical that 'fills' a horizontal screen. This is the first time I used a rotation but I liked my abstract so much that I couldn't use it for this style of image. I find this works great on any image that can't be re-sized to fill a screen. Maybe you can use this as a starting point and come up with a better routine! :o) This is a pic of my granddaughter's violin perched on her black music sheet holder! She was at school!

I am surprised to find one of your images in the lonely images list. However, knowing how few comments I have on my illustration images I think people are afraid to make them. I like the use of the large B&W image as the background with the colour insert. I find the top of the colour part a little distracting, however, it is also quite fascinating in its own right in a sort of abstract way. Nice used of light on the images with good shadows.

I would hope nobody is afraid to comment... I expect it is more a matter of time (both how long the image has been posted and as to time available for viewer) or real interest in the picture! I know that the interest factor affects my commenting (and this is affected by the number of comments already posted... lots of comments usually means mine is not needed!)  :o)
I do agree with the view regarding the distraction... but as you can see the entry deadline was fast approaching and I actually never got the chance to enter the image... I got some shut-eye instead. And anyway, I was really only interested in sharing the idea (found in Proshow) of handling images. I have some much better examples but they use images from other Caedes' members...! :o)
