Some sort of bug with a Rhino horn. First time I've effectively used my macro lens.

The closeup is great, but the bug is dead. Try to find a living one. That should give a nicer image.

great first macro. I'm a big fan of macro, so I look forward to seeing more. Treat the camera like a microscope, is what I say to myself.

The image has a definite style, with the simplicity and the strong white background. No need to change your approach, but I am curious to see how it would look with a slightly less dominating white and maybe slightly more colour/saturation in the beatle itself.

As Larser said....is it dead? If so, then it would be better if it was facing the right way up :-)

Does anyone have a little coffee straw to try CPR? Heehee, keep working with that macro lens, lots of fun I'm sure.

The bug is dead, and it is the right way up???

And thanks for the tips, I'll run it through GIMP and see what I can do with it.

I would love to find a live specimen, but in the 21 years I've lived where I do, I've never seen anything like this.

I don't reply much because I'm a really busy guy, but I appreciate all your comments!
