From a visual perspective, this image has great depth, and nicely divides the three concepts of old and new architecture agains a distant backdrop of trees and hills. My eye is drawn immediately to the structure in the forground, then led to follow the spires which appear to point to the "new" city. Top marks from me.

I agree with Romaine about the timeline shown in the structures, I also think it was a great time of year for this. The trees wearing their browns, yellows and reds really compliment the buildings, wouldnt like it so much in summer greens.

Thats Riga, the capital of Latvia.

What a lovely picture. I also agree with Romane. This is a great picture with a lot of depth in it. The range of buildings seen in this view are beautiful!

I love the symbolism of this picture. I feel like it captures so well the landscape of contradictions that places like Latvia and all of Eastern Europe struggle to face with the fall of communism and the revival of national identities amidst modernization and economic forces.
