I've been experimenting with Layers. My goal was to give this a mysterous, slight 3D effect. I made the gem using Nathan's tutorial and it worked like a charm. Thanx Nathan. I put it between two layers I built up using flame fractals and various filters. Check it out full sized to see the layer detail.

Yeah I know, I'm late to this party but ya know what they say, bedder la...Anyhow, had to comment on this one, because it's so different from your other recent work. When I first looked, my impression was, "Ok now where are the recognizable images", it has that feel of one of those works, that if you look hard enough you'll start to see things that one recognizes...Hell, I looked so long that I started seeing things that wern't there and that is always my best compliment. I love works that require a nice long study and this one should really make people look...Don't know if it did but sure did me. Thank you for sharing and I hope you'll be putting up more like it. Dave
