This is one of many hunting stands that can be found on this woodlot. This particular one has seen better days and the trees that hid it from view have been cut down. This photo started out as a composite of several shots. I then cropped it to this size and composition. I added some colour to the sky to bring out some definition in what would otherwise be a dull, overcast sky. Likewise I played around with the lighting on the grass and foreground. Hope you enjoy this one. Your comments welcomed.

Wendell - I don't think too many animals will be fooled by this stand. :-) I like the scene. Thad

Good composition, Wendell. A rather unusual structure. Many thanks.

That tree stand doesn't look like it can take too much more, I say put it out of it's misery...

This one's a keeper, Wendell. I can just see this on the cover of Architectural Digest. What a structure!! Sad that all the trees are gone. Excellent and ironic photo.

Very nice photo Wendell I do like the sky.

You might want to put down some padding because I don't think that stand will take much recoil from a 30 30 or even a 22.

Hey Wendell
You could have got right up in that stand and got a real nice picture of that open field but that stand would most likely crumble!! Very nice capture Wendell

Very good composition, and nice perspective of the field, too bad that the weather wasn't better. But still great photo my friend!

So interesting to know about this. When I lived in Louisiana, they had "duck blinds" which are little hidden shed like thingies, hidden in reeds, grasses etc. so that the duckies don't see what's coming at'em!! This stand of yours looks a bit rickety tho...But you could get good photos from here, as to those much 'hunted' animals eh?! Verena
