... unless of course this is a moth, then the title makes absolutely no sense. So feel free to change it if necessary. Welcome the the beginning & conclusion of my exciting series of butterfly photos. I chased this particular one around the yard for a grand total of five minutes before giving up in disgust and going off to photograph paint drying. None of those photos came out too great either, too much motion blur. I would like to thank all of you who stuck it out through this long grueling series. Without your kind, supportive comments I might well have given up before I started. I call this little lady "Reddy", if only because "Orangy" would be a rather silly name. She would pose majestically on a leaf wings outspread with a come hither look. But I never got one of those shots, instead I got this one and many more similar to it. Cropped the photo down from a larger shot. Played around with the saturation and applied a soft focus around it. Hope you enjoy and your comments welcomed.

I'm no lepidoperist, Wendell, but I'd say she was a moth. A lovely shot of her. She stands out so well against the pale foliage. Perhaps she's related to Helen Reddy!

Wendell - An incredible series you have presented - it is hard to pick out which of the series I like best! You maintained clarity with the crop. I'm not a Lepidopterist, but this looks like a moth. Thad

Wendell...
I'm not a lepidoperist either although I do play one on TV. :-) My guess is that it's a moth, but that's only because I'm a coleopterist.

Your persistence paid off. This is truly an excellent shot. Wonderful clarity and colors. Love that green leaf background. I think this gal would have a tough time hiding out with those colors.

This is not a moth this is a Skipper, a European Skipper to be exact. They are a fly but not a butterfly. They are really quick and hard to catch as Im sure you found out. You ended up with a great shot!

Very beautiful colors your buttermoth, Wendell, I like the colors contrast and your Lady Reddy is very temperamental giving you so a huge work to gt a good shot, Greeny was more calm...lol But yes you got a very beautiful shot Wendell, good result after hard work! Congratulatons!

Reddy huh? Couldn't come up with anything more unique? Lol. I'm pretty sure that is a moth my friend, and boy I'm glad you aren't pursuing this subject any more!! It's better to quit while you're ahead... Just an FYI. ;)

Incredible details and rich in colour, Wendell! It's softly blurred surroundings really shows her off. I believe your Lady Reddy is a moth. Excellent capture my friend! The workout was definitely worth it, me thinks :)

This is absolutely beautiful and lovely moth, not a butterly. The clarity and detail of this capture is great, Wendell. You did it great.
