I came across this small water puddle in the middle of a forest cut-over. It was coated with a thin sheen of oil. Whether it was hydraulic fluid from a skidder or chainsaw oil, I couldn't begin to tell you. But it did leave this pattern on the water that caught my eye. Actually this was the second one that caught my attention, the first had a much more simpler pattern

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Wendell - A most interesting pattern. Too bad it is created by pollution. The lighting gives this water scene a hazy translucence. Thad

Wonderful abstract, Wendell. Just think about the possibilities for postings if you could head down to the Gulf of Mexico while the remnants of the BP oil spill wash up into the wetlands.

You mentioned once that you're always looking all over for potential shots. Not too many people would have looked into an oily pool and seen this beauty. Great eye.

Love the colors and those patterns.

I also like the effect and color oil or gas causes when it hits water. Gives it a prism or rainbow color to it. You keeping an open eyes for shots and thats good!

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling.

The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
