I was going to post different photo then realized I had already posted it months ago. I should keep better track of things instead of dumping all the finished edits in one folder. It's like my memory is going like that cheese with all the holes in it. You know the stuff that mice have mined their way through. Which might explain those late night muffled explosions coming from the fridge. But that has nothing to do with this photo; does it?

This particular photo was shot and re-shot and re-shot again numerous times from various angles and settings trying to get something interesting. In some of the shots the bench would wander off to the far right side of the frame. I finally had to nail it down to get this photo. There's a photo there some place. This may not be it.

This was shot at Victoria Park in Truro, NS. Part of the reason for the numerous re-shots was waiting for people to get out of the way. The major thoroughfare in the park runs right through the scene. And no matter how hard I insisted people persisted in coming and going in both directions, with the odd dawdler who would indulge in taking in the sights. How rude!

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

P.S. Just to drive certain people crazy, the photo is not level. You know who you are.

Nice capture and really interesting soil, looks to be unstable, but maybe it just looks that way. Good shot though.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Hilarious narrative, Wendell. I would actually categorize your narrative as "Wendellesque". And for the first time in recent memory, I like the image much more than the narrative which I would categorize as an unintended backhanded compliment.

First of all, you won me over since I don't see any flowers. I have decided to start a mail in contact storm with the moderators to restart the VB and C-Index so that I can award one demerit for every flower in a flower shot. A bouquet of roses could result in a score of minus 2.

I don't see the fuss. The horizon looks good to me based on the exposed roots in the upper right and the direction of the sun since this shot was taken at 2:15 pm. Simple as that. I like the colors. I see no Rogeresque oversaturation of the greens. The red soil looks neat and is a good counterbalance to the brilliantly blue skies.

I don't understand your aversion to people in your shots. You once posted a neat shot of a couple of kids walking away from you holding hands. The gods didn't strike you dead for posting that one.

Very nice shot. No problem. The narrative was a hoot. On another matter, is it true that Rob has multiple personality disorder. I notice he's been signing everything twice.

Very interesting looking photo and lovely light and colours in the embankment and trees. But it looks a very dodge looking place to sit and have a rest with a land slide bank at the back of you lol.

It does resemble a bit of a landslide behind - let's just say I wouldn't take this seat in the rain. I think the shot has wonderful balance and the proportion of the bench to the hill gives us a good perspective.
