Another reckless youth cruising along in his souped-up rig trying to impress the young ladies. Though it looked to me like he had no particular place to go.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Hey, Wendell...

You had your macro lens set to full blast on this baby. Very selective DoF which makes for an interesting shot of this reckless youth. You must have used a strobe and an ultra fast shutter speed as I see no motion blur. Much like the wings of a hummingbird, these beetles are a tough catch without blur. I occasionally use my pellet gun in an effort to stun them long enough for a good shot. I also like the offset composition. The added space on the left really gives the shot that feeling of extreme velocity. Great shot, good narrative and hideously spooky title.

I agee with all the DOF is spot on on what I'm sure was a tricky shot of this adorable lil' critter.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
