If it wasn't for the fact that there is a big ugly concrete block building behind that embankment I might have shown some sky in the scene. Not that it would have mattered the day the photo was shot since the sky was gray and overcast, but not in a dramatic sense just plain dull looking. So instead you get stuck with this truncated view of the duck pond.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Nice capture, I like all the cattails, it's a wonder they stood up to that snow.

I like the composition. Colours of the grasses contrast well with the beautiful snow, and I am surprised no one is using that bench to survey the scene.
Nice work .

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

I agree the composition works for this shot, sometimes it is better to ignore the sky, a good sharp capture, and the exposure is perfect. Tigs♥ =^..^=

Sometimes you have to take your shots best as you can get them and you've done great here. Nice clarity and depth. Love the cattails.

Wendell - Where are the ducks? A little snow and ice and they fly the coop? Well composed. Thad

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

I think if the snow wasnt there in this image these Bull rushes wouldnt have stood out so well. But you were there at exactly the right time, and this has turned out to be a brilliant capture. Fav'd and thank you for sharing!
