I met this shy lady yesterday standing 20 meters off the trail as the world walked obliviously by her. After a proper introduction she allowed me to move closer for some more intimate photos while she dined and I mostly talked to the breeze and slapped the rather forward mosquito or two that sought to take advantage of the situation.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

What a beautiful face she has Wendell and this is an excellent shot with those wonderful ferns and the dappled sunlight filtering through the trees.

This is a beautifully composed shot with the green ferns as backdrop and the trees as a frame. Nice detail on the doe. Bravo Wendell.

You must have a very friendly face and voice because the deer here will scoot as soon as they see you. A good composition with the deer partially hidden by foliage.

I real like this capture Wendell I love how the Deers head is tilted to one said to see what you are up to and the sunlight Illuminating the ferns and dear is stunning ,plus I like the selective focus too.

I believe that deer is hiding after eating most of the flowers from my neighbor's garden lol. Great capture Wendell - the deer is just so adorable - I really like the lighting on the fern and the woods as well. Excellent!!!!!

Slapping mosquitos would have frightened her normally but with your gentle approach she knew that there was no danger. Nice capture of the deer in its natural habitat Wendell.

She is such a shy little thing...so you must have had the right approach. I like the details: the coarse texture of her coat and her dark nose, the sun-dappled fern, the way she is peeking out from the trees. Really nice one.

I can tell by the look in her eyes, that it was love at first sight for her! I am a little shocked that she didn't invite you over to dine with her....she must have had a sudden case of tongue stiffness and anxiety shyness! Maybe if you meet again, she will be more bold! Beautiful capture all around, Wendell.
