That center element has the look of a gargoyle or chimera, either adorned with a long robe or cloak leading forward, or conducting water away from this mysterious entrance way! Since the lower pattern doesn't resemble water, I'm going with the first. However, I can see it your way as well, with the pattern merging/uniting :) Some wise words you have chosen to accompany this fantastic creation! I also like the depth and smooth textures! The elements also remind me of "Rockin' Toboggan". Outstanding work again my friend! :)

I thought for the moment that was the Lion of Oz there... but then I put my glasses on! I see Lori's cloak as well, and wondered if he minded my standing on it. 'He' being the figure in the centre, of course!
