Thanks to NASA's World Wind program, I was able to get this high resolution image of the Himalayas mountain range through their Landsat 7 satellite. Thanks, also, to Camerahound, who introduced me to the program! This is the website for the World Wind program in case you are interested: worldwind.arc.nasa.gov

Ok, I know that this is a stupid question but, is the yellow China? If it is, is that why China is always yellow on maps? 10/10

I love this shot. I am guessing that the yellow bit is a desert right? Rain clouds come from the bottom, hit the mountain & most of the rain is on one side. The other side gets little rain, right? Second question, the patches of different colour you can see in the green, thats from stoicthing different images at different times together?

the rectangles are farmlands. Look at a close picture of the midwest USA. I live in PA and see them all around here when i go up in a plane.

Great pic. Never seen one like this before. 10/10

God Bless America JUST for NASA - they produce so much great science and resources and share it with the whole planet.

This looks like a big fractal to me. Makes me interested in better understanding chaos theory / chaos math.
