Welcome to Caedes.net! You've made a good start at photography too. The focus is good, as is the placement of the bridge. Some suggestions for the next shot of the bridge - eliminate some of the clutter of the lightpoles, the cars, and the general construction stuff. What do you think of the same angle of the bridge, but with you taking the photo while standing beside the 'road construction ahead' sign?
I agree with the above but would expand on it. Every image needs some sharpening after what is lost in transfer from camera/sensor to computer. Dependent on the degree of editing, it may require additional sharpening as a last enhancement application.
The part light pole could be cloned out, down to the railing, and a crop from the right border to just past the cable/pole.
It could also be cloned out if the loss of subject matter/car was important to the scene.
It's a foggy day on the bay but the cars and bridge are clear and could use a bit of contrast. Then use Gamma control to lighten or darken overall to preference.
Looking at the bridge is really beautiful, but all the cars and construction cones really take away from the photo and make it where it's not a good desktop. When posting things on Caedes, I always try to keep in mind "Will this make a good desktop"? You do have a good eye and I think this will make a good photo once you get closer and omit the cluter. Keep up the good work and you will get there.
I agree with the prior comments. Good subject, lovely mood. Cars, telephone poles, stray people are the bane of a photographer's existence. It often takes real work to get the extraneous stuff out - to get that pristine shot.
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
Keep working at it!
