B/W film. 400. The title really describes my feeling for the photograph. But I'll leave you with this: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "People where you live," the little prince said, "grow five thousand roses in one garden... yet they don't find what they're looking for..." "They don't find it," I answered. "And yet what they're looking for could be found in a single rose, or a little water..." "Of course," I answered. And the little prince added, "But eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart." -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Oh, wow. I haven't read that story since I was a liiiiiiiiitle girl! That is a truly lovely picture you've taken. Wonderful lighting, and the B&W is a nice, very artistic choice.

""Goodbye," said the fox. "And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."

"What is essential is invisible to the eye," the little prince repeated, so that he would be sure to remember."

"It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important."

"It is the time I have wasted for my rose--" said the little prince, so that he would be sure to remember.

"Men have forgotten this truth," said the fox. "But you must not forget it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed. You are responsible for your rose . . ."

"I am responsible for my rose," the little prince repeated, so that he would be sure to remember..."

Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand. ~Margery Williams The Velveteen Rabbit~

The lesson left here by both you and Twig963 is beautiful and touching and I found myself very much enamored before I ever looked at the photo in full view. I was wearing my rose-colored glasses when I did so, because of the emotional stage that had been set for me. I like black and white photographs, and I think that they can be used to great advantage (Ansel Adams comes to mind right off the bat) and a few others that I've seen posting here. But when I removed my glasses and saw that not only was the image in black and white, but that it was also ever so slightly blurred I was disappointed. Now, perhaps this was your intent...for us to color the rose in our own minds, or to view the blur as a dreamy aspect...that I couldn't say. If that is the case, it was done admirably well. :)PJ
