I have been wanting to do something with ice for a long time. Good looking ice is for me, really hard to do. In part because of the tremendous render times associated. I set off to create a good looking ice scene that did not require expensive techniques. This is about the best I could come up with. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.

Composition is very strong. Render is clean, colours look great.

Really nice work.


What I particularly enjoy is that my eyes go to the horizon first, and are then drawn back into the image and that of the boat itself.
