The Digitalis Purpurea is a mountain flower. The flowers are arranged in a showy, terminal, elongated cluster, and each flower is tubular and pendent. The flowers are typically purple but some plants, especially those under cultivation, may be pink, rose, yellow, or white. The corolla is spotted inside the bottom of the tube. The flowering period is early summer, sometimes with additional flower stems developing later in the season. I would like to dedicate this shot to my dear friend here on Caedes : Pat aka icedancer. She's a friend of mine and I like her support and her messages. When I took this shot, I immediatly thought about the cards and the collages that she appreciates to create for every caedes members...

People aren't going to remember the things you do. They're going to remember how you made people feel. Be kind, gracious, and appreciative. Dan Winters - Photographer.

What a nice dedication! These flowers are very special to us. They are used to make heart medicine. My husband's sister had to take it because of a birth defect. Unfortunately she didn't survive the corrective surgery and died when she was 4 yrs. old. In honor of her, I have many of these planted in my flower beds.
