Sorry about the pun but when i first printed this photo and showed it to people it felt like the whole world was saying this. Hope you like, its my favorite
"Let a man listen to his dream so he may hear the story of all men and let him say as he did
when he was a child: this is true; it does not matter what they tell me."
-William Wantling
Very effective use of b/w...the textures in the wood really come out well. It is a nice composition as well. Alexis is right, though, a bit darker sky would balance the foreground more effectively.
Well, do you use film or digital? Pierre is right. Your use of B&W really works here, and the wood has lots of - well - character to it. It's almost like it's been around long enough to pay its dues. Good choice of subjects and you shot it well.
Congratulations on this picture, i also would like to know if you used film to get this effect. It's a very cool shot, and uses the texture of the wood and angle of the fence well. congrats
Hello Rachel...It should be your favourite and that goes for any picture you have in your gallery....Simplicity, honesty, impact....Whatever it means to you, black and white photography is as old as the hills yet as popular as ever and this picture I like very much..Keep up the good work....All the best...Mick
