Another picture i took while in Edinburgh. This one is of the stands outside Edinburgh Castle where the Royal Tattoo takes place. This is a kind of celebration of historic military armourment. I had an idea that we would go and see it while we were there but apparently the waiting list of tickets if over a year long! Now that the C-Index is gone please be honest and constructive with your comments. Many Thanks :)

Rachel, I like the angle in which this is presented, but it does seem a little soft focused, or something, not real sure. I like the color contrasts in this as well. Tigs♥ =^..^=

The colour really makes this image and it is contrasted well with the desaturated areas. My eye is drawn to the patterns and colours in the seating, also the red covers on whatever it is they are covering but they lack the precision of the seats. The rest is just an empty stand, which may have a purpose but does not, for me anyway, add a lot to the image. You have a lot of pixels to play with, so perhaps a heavy crop might yield something interesting. There again it might not.

I think Chris and Sandi had intelligent thoughts on your posting. Using your software I'm not sure how difficult it was to graytone part of the shot, but it doesn't seem to serve a useful purpose. And I agree that the focus feels off slightly. The graytoned sky seems especially vacant and even slightly overexposed. This one, I'm sorry to say, is somewhere between a 3 and a 4. Add Mt. Everest and you might squeeze a 5 out of me.

Nice angles in the photo and an interesting pattern created by the seating. Nice colours and desaturated sections of the photo.

The difference between a bad artist and a good one is: the bad artist seems to copy a great deal; the good one really does. ~William Blake
