Another phenomenon I witnessed over the Summer. This wasn't a rainbow in the sky.. Just a color spectrum that seemed to grow upward. Can't say I've ever seen such a sight. There was also a ring around the sun of the same spectrum but I wasn't able to catch it. Havn't seen one since! Does anyone know what this is..? No rain for days, and this appeared out of nowhere.. Taken from a Cemetery just down the road. Looks like a piece of Heaven if you ask me.

Got no idea what it is, but it's a cool picture. Great work.

Ooh I saw a similar one on the news over the summer, but this was a few cities away from my own. It's called a circumzential arc where the rainbow curves upward. You're lucky to have captured such a rare sight. Looks really beautiful! =]

"I decided that it was not wisdom that enabled [poets] to write their poetry, but a kind of instinct or inspiration, such as you find in seers and prophets who deliver all their sublime messages without knowing in the least what they mean." --Socrates (in "Apology")

I think you have a SUNDOG on your hands. There isn't a great pic there of one, but if you look HERE it shows one similar to yours.

Great sky shot, to say the least!!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
