I agree with your choice not to frame in this case. The smooth flowing water along with the placement of your lovely swan within the photo provides natural nature framework that easily accepts icons. ;)
But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile.

Beautiful image :) You know, honestly I'm not sure whether or not I agree with the others about framing it. I would have to see one on before I could say yae or nae ;) Personally I like this one better than the other; more to observe. Perhaps it's just me, but the image seems pretty dark as well (cloudy day?), but there's not much you can do about that. If I might, do you think I could try my own version? There's not much to improve at all, and I may not even post it, but I would like to mess with it if that's ok :)
