Taken at SEMO. The building in the distance is a cement factory. I'm not so sure how I feel about the film grain... Does it add to the picture, or detract?
Katie The film grain on a lot of pictures can make them look bad but in this case I think it adds to the image quite nicely. Since this is in B&W the grain is incorporated and becomes a part of the "feel" Of it. This reminds me of a street in Salt Lake City. A nice shot! Paul
I have to ask, was this shot through a dirty windshield.I found some very strange detail embedded in this.As for grain, it isn't objectionable, but any of the newer Noise Reduction software does an excellent job without affecting sharpness/detail. There's too much sky, and cropping down to just above the horizontal bar on the power pole tends to pull the composition together and improve balance.
I like the blur and grain on this black and white image. I think the overall exposure and technique is excellent. Would like to see it applied to some different images, with different framing and objects. Thanks for sharing.
