Dan and I came across this scene on the banks of the Mississippi . Sad to say this is a scene that can be found almost anywhere in the world . I was struck at how neatly this persons bedroll was tucked away . We never did see who this belonged to . Hopefully there are better days ahead for this person and all of those who are homeless. Let us remember to be grateful for what we have and help those who are less fortunate . Not all homeless have chosen this way of life .

This speaks volumes Marsha, your narrative said it perfectly. While down in Nashville, Tn. I took a walk on the walking bridge over the river, and spotted a tarp tent, and a homeless person moving around down below, that will stay with me. Tigs♥ =^..^=

A heart touching real life shot Marsha. I ran across something very much like this just two days ago in my small town. It's very sad, especially when the weather is so terrible and you don't know if children are also involved.

Spend a few minutes each day being grateful for what you have and who you have to share it with.

The sad part is that more and more people are becoming homeless, with a good number of them not necessarily living like that...

Well put theme...Faved...

Yes, it is tragic Marsha. It is often difficult for them to get back into a normal life. A touching image.

This photo certainly tells a sad tale. Unfortunately there is a "Tent City" here.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Great looking photo and sad at the same time, just knowing it get worse as poverty is hitting many these days.Love the colours in this photo and the detail and composition is spot on.The neatness lead you to think that this person still as pride in is self the forced to sleep rough.

Under the stars... I spoke with a gent down there once, he told me that his son comes looking for him about once a week, to 'take him home'.

He hides from him every time, he does not want to be a burden to the son by moving in with him and his family.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

You see that around a lot in Detroit unfortunately. Maybe one day Detroit will gain back what Kwami Killpatrick took away.
