The seawall is what makes this image interesting. Everything else -- especially the shutter speed -- works very well. The grey tones accent the clouds and rough sea and purveys COLD. The holes in the wall are curious. Not sure whether to work the wall in more or less, but visually the capture stands or falls on the black margin.
Wow!! This is an amazing shot. I always used to walk out on the rocks on the Jety to feel to Ocean spray up at me. Nature is so amazing. That's why I Love her so.
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is a society, where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar,
I love not man less, but Nature more
--Lord Byron
I like it! I think the wall balances out the dark value of the stoney shore.
It also gives the picture closure. It establishes a really close foreground away from the midground. Then with the background it all has really good depth.
Anyway, i could be wrong but that is what i think. You all are wrong and i am right. Jking.
this maybe just a bad photographer talking, but cant u just crop out the wall if its an issue? it might make the picture too narrow, but, hey, what do i know.... where did u take this shot? its looks cool. looks like a place i would want to go to. cool shot!
