It's difficult to capture the peace of a winter day, but well done here. I like the little streaks of snow in front of the river. A bit dark, but I'm sure that's an auto-exposure effect? -cheers, kim
Fun with white balance!
Normally you never need to know how to use it, but if you enjoy taking photos of the snow (or have lots of opportunities, it might be worth while learning the intricacies; they can help you get a well balanced image. Your composition is quite good, but as Kim said, it's a little dark, and a tad unclear.

Michael, what I like most here is the atmosphere accompanying the winter's last weeks - partly melted snow and lack of snow on the tree branches which makes them look so grim. The general gloomy mood also corresponds to this darkest of all periods in a year.
Good image although not suited for this particular time of the year as might cause or aggravate depressions LOL
