I took this at least two years ago and have had a great deal of good compliments on the shot so I thought I'd post it up here for my Caedes friends to see.

I felt very accomplished after taking this photo because as a little girl, I always admired the beauty of rain drops (on roses and whiskers on kittens..:) and was never able to capture them with a good camera until then.

That is fabulous, the focus point is exceptional, a great composition and good colour choice. Very different and very good.

I like how you did this in B & W ... really brings out the droplets & textures of the leaves. I may have cropped the lower part of the image ... just below the blurred outline of the lower leaf. Other than that it's a very nicely composed shot Maria. I do like the wet but peaceful feel to this image. Thank you for sharing.

Good choice for b&w. I always use b&w when there's not much attractive color to be seen. I bet that the leaf is plain reddish brown if it's in color. (sorry for my english)

Nicely done! I like the simplicity of this, and the black and white adds to the mood.

Liking your composition here, Maria.

In particular, the placement of the one drop in the lower right-hand side in relation to the overall image. Anchors your photo and then, provides a good good focal point.

Caveats?

Aside from the issue of available resolution sizes ... in my humble opinion, believe you could improve the tonal range some. So..

There's some nice *kenesthesia happening as well. (*This is my 'power word' for the day. :oP)

Which simply means; "an effective use of movement, either through the emulation of movement within the still image, or by the tension exhibited by stillness".

This element/facet is imparted to us, your viewers, by the lines within frame, shapes of that of the leaves, water pooling, et al.

Ok, now then..

Where's my cookies?

And last, but certainly not least ... thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)
