I would like to describe this as a magnificent and proud sea bird surveying its domain, the sea. Actually this seagull was perched on a rock at the edge of the duck pond at our local public gardens waiting to swoop and steal the bread being fed to the ducks :) I have not altered it in any way so I do not know why its wing feathers have the blue tinge. The seagulls in NZ are the same as anywhere else and do not have blue wings. :)

What a beauty! Not like the S---rats we have here! :)
I rarely photograph seagulls....they are too likely to drop a load right on my head and splatter my lens! Yours is a beauty, LynEve!

Anyone who can click a camera can be a photographer but it takes an artist's eye to present an ordinary or mundane subject such as a seagull in an interesting way. Congratulations for achieving that in this photo. Your *childlike* curiosity is certainly taking your creativity to new heights. Regarding the bluish tinge of the wings, I think it is the resulting color shift due to automatic white balance (AWB). AWB is an intelligent feature of today's cameras designed to provide a more lifelike color under a variety of lighting conditions.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I say what I say because that is my honest opinion. I don't kiss ass because I find that gross and repulsive.

In my favorites. It has such a surreal look to it, and then you go and spoil it all by telling . the real story behind the myth built up in my mind :) Just joking. Great Capture !!!!!

Very well done, Eve. It's probably reflected light, from the sky reflections in the water.
Great shot.
