Nice image. The pattern in the cactus is caused by what is known as the Fibonacci Sequence which is found throughout nature and is reflected in the way trees grow, the pattern of veins in leaves, the placement of seeds in sunflowers, and even the distinct shapes of pine cones and pineapples... just to name a few examples of it in action.
