It's very unusual that a self-portrait image has any artistic merit. That's why this one caught my eye, and made me view it full-size. You did more here than show yourself. You captured a moment, a feeling, and all of us get a good feeling from viewing it.
Good depth of field. Good composition. I might have allowed more "edge-room" to more firmly seat the elements in the image, but then again I wasn't the one imaginative enough to "see this image". Of course the choice of black and white lends a bit of a mystical feel to it which we all interpret our own ways. I see an apocalyptic angel watched for judgement by the plaintive foreground person.
Another thing I think would have helped is to get rid of the glasses. They feed a more contemporary snapshot feel to the image which it definitely does not deserve.
