The Caedes Deck I hope this isn't too abstract.

I hope it's not too abstract too, cuz I really really like this. I'm sorry, did I say I like this ? Actually, I find it elegant, vibrant & simple, & well worth high marks. Wonderful job.

Wow, I didn't think the on-site compression would reduce the quality this much....

The basic layout and everything else is looking really cool. Red hues in this range is not handled well by the on-site compression. I would not expect the 5:s and other light field to be affected like this though. It would be interesting to see your original file. (You could send it to me at kjh000@spymac.com if you like to.) It's not sure I could help you though. At any rate if you have a nice uncompressed file that shows no signs of pixilation like this, then the card itself would look awesome!

Compression seems to have a major effect on reds. However, if and when the cards are ever printed, that won't be a factor. I like this design

Yes like everyone else said! dont worry about anything wrong due to onsite compression!
Theres no way it could be too abstract not while it so clearly represents the 5 of diamons! even if it was just the red image by itself i would still have no problems picking out suit and value! Great work!

Nice work, it's good to see you've transfered your own style into this design. I would suggest a bit more work on the 5's. I find them a tad boring at the moment. The background is superb though and highlights your skill with apophysis......any idea how to create clubs in apophysis?:)

Cheers..........

Yeah, I might rework this a little bit.

works well, simple & effective. my only suggestion would be to maybe work on the grey diamonds & the number 5's, they kinda look a bit flat, perhaps a bit of drop shadow or more texture, apart from that it looks good :~)

It's quite relaxing just to look at the image for a while actually! Very nice : )
