This is a very large petrified tree trunk in the middle of the Great Pee Dee River! its at least 100,000 years old and usually 6 feet or so under the water!
Whoa....I hope I look that good when I'm 100,000 years old <<LOL>> The river does look like it could use some precipitation judging by the low level of the water against the banks. Nicely done :)

You know how to find petrified wood don't you. I can't seem to ever find it. I don't know if Ive ever really actually found any out and about. This is a really great shot. I like the clarity :)
I love the perspective on this shot. Your subject is detailed but you have a nice view of the river too! Well done. I'm actually from Charlotte so we're feeling the low water levels too!
