I'm not sure this canal/klong is actually called "Rangsit" but it's in Rangsit and I could not find a map with any name on it so I made one up. The shot was taken in the late afternoon using the colour "filter" function on my Pentax K20D, which I did lots of further work on in The Gimp for this final result. It's not as dark full size as it looks in thumbnail. Bangkok is built on a floodplain and there are plenty of these klongs all around the city, plus the actual river. The houses over the water are all, far as I can tell, hand built from scrap timber.

Enjoy.

Mikel.

The gold and red tones really give it an exotic feel to it. Very nice job on this. Your hard work paid off.

I like the two tone filtering. Makes me think of a hot end of day. An interesting diverse river scene, I love those ripples created by the boat.

Lovely picture. And the color filter has done the trick Mikel to upgrade it from a good to great shot.

Well, Mikel, once again there is this wonderful red colour in your photo. It creates a much different feeling of drama then many other colours. And then the touch of that golden yellow, that's also a dramatic colour. It brings such life to your photo. I like it very much. Verena
